Team Marigold

The Plymouth-Dakar Challenge is a Charity Rally from Plymouth to Dakar (actually, a bit further, to Banjul in The Gambia). Now in its 3rd year the basic idea is to take a cheap second hand car and drive it all the way to Banjul where all participating cars are auctioned off in aid of local charities.

The Rules for the challenge:

1 Participating cars should cost no more then £100.

2 The budget for the vehicle preparation is £15

3 Once the Rally is underway teams are on their own!!

4 All of vehicles that make it to Banjul must be handed over to the Challenge Control Group to be auctioned under controlled conditions (reported to The Gambian Government) in aid of local Gambian Charities.

5 All vehicles must be LEFT-HAND DRIVE!!

We made it all the way to Banjul! Long live Marigold
Team Marigold is in group 3 (along with 50 other cars) and we will be settting of on the 27th of December in order to get to the first meeting point in Gibraltar on New Years Eve. Hopefully 17days later we will be in Banjul!
